JACKSON HOLE REVIEW
Project: Design of a literary magazine
Role: Book design, art direction, identity, curation

The Jackson Hole Review is a literary magazine created in Northwest Wyoming to bring together a balance of prose, poetry,
and art that speaks to the ubiquitous conversational theme of "place" in the West. Noting that Jackson Wyoming is a magnetic
cultural hub in the Rocky Mountain region, the editors of JHR worked to create an outlet to recognize a group of artists in that
part of the country.

I designed the initial publication with consideration for the size and feel of the physical book, created a typographic family,
conceived the masthead and acted as the Art Director, curating the painting and photography in the publication. All of the
decisions were filtered through the lens of a style that gave a subtle nod to a western context but aimed to present canvas
of neutral sophistication so that contemporary western ideas were not pigeon holed into an expected narrative.
